Economic Development Board

The City of Marshfield is seeking members for its new Economic Development Board (EDB). The EDB will direct, oversee, and coordinate economic development efforts related to the investment of City funds, adopt plans and strategies to foster business growth and development, and ensure that the City and participating organizations work cooperatively to promote coordinated economic development. The Board will be comprised of 7 members, including 2 City Council members and 5 persons from the community at large. We’re looking for innovative individuals, involved and committed to the Marshfield area, who have the skills to develop the vision, set a strategic direction, bring together the resources, and help the City grow, now and into the future! Some education, experience, or background in areas related to economic development is preferred. Initial appointments will be for one year, after which a schedule of staggered terms will be put in place. The Board will initially meet monthly, but the frequency of meetings may be reduced once a comprehensive plan and initial strategies have been adopted.

If you have questions, or if you want more information, please contact City Administrator Steve Barg at 387-6597. Click here for the application. The application deadline is Friday, June 15th at 5:00 p.m.
